Director of IT Systems and Support

Position Summary:
The Director of IT Systems and Support is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure and database systems that support the ministry operations of First Baptist Church Forney. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for helpdesk services, church database integrity, and Rock RMS administration and programming. The Director of IT Systems and Support will leverage technical expertise and a ministry mindset to ensure that ministry teams have the tools and support needed to fulfill the mission of FBC Forney.

Responsibilities:

Helpdesk and IT Support Management
Serve as the primary liaison between FBC Forney team members and the contracted third-party helpdesk support organization.
Manage service requests, monitor ticket resolution, and ensure quality and timeliness of support provided by the helpdesk vendor.
Evaluate and communicate team technology needs to the helpdesk partner and escalate issues as necessary.
Coordinate hardware and software procurement recommendations in partnership with church leadership.
Maintain an inventory of church-owned technology assets.
Communicate with the team in a positive, professional, and helpful manner regarding all technology matters.

Church Database Administration
Serve as the primary administrator for the FBC Forney church database, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and security.
Develop and maintain data entry standards, workflows, and best practices for church ministry teams.
Train teams and ministry volunteers on proper database use and procedures.
Generate reports, data views, and queries to support ministry and administrative decision-making.
Manage duplicate record detection, data cleanup, and ongoing database health.
Oversee contribution records, membership data, and other sensitive information in accordance with church policies.

Rock RMS Development and Programming
Develop, customize, and maintain Rock RMS workflows, Lava templates, blocks, and pages to support church ministry needs.
Build and maintain event registration, group management, communication, and giving integrations within Rock RMS.
Partner with ministry teams to identify automation and system improvement opportunities.
Stay current with Rock RMS updates, community resources, and best practices.
Troubleshoot Rock RMS issues and coordinate with the Rock RMS community and vendors as needed.
Document system configurations, customizations, and processes for continuity and training purposes.

Support the Church
Attend team meetings and ministry planning sessions as needed to anticipate and address technology needs.
Provide technology recommendations that support the vision and mission of FBC Forney.
Perform other tasks deemed necessary by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Successful candidate must be a professing Christian who will become an active member of First Baptist Church Forney and thus in agreement with the doctrinal statements of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as adopted by the SBC. A demonstrated dynamic personal relationship with Jesus as evidenced by salvation and a mature walk with Christ is required. Candidate must agree to live and work in accordance with the personnel policies of First Baptist Church Forney.

Technical Expertise
Proficiency in Rock RMS administration, Lava templating language, and workflow development strongly preferred.
Experience with church database management and data integrity best practices.
Familiarity with IT helpdesk operations, vendor management, and general network/hardware support concepts.
Computer proficiency in a Windows-based environment and Google Suite.
Experience with SQL, HTML, or other web/scripting languages a plus.

Reports to: Executive Pastor
Hours: Full-time, Salaried, Exempt
Pay Rate: Dependent on Qualifications and Experience
