Summer Internships
Applications for the Summer 2026 Internship Program at FBC Forney are now open! The deadline to apply for these internships is February 27, 2026. Application review and interviews will take place during the first two weeks of March and applicants will know the result of their application by March 16, 2026.
As a part-time, seasonal intern at FBC Forney, you'll receive hands-on training while serving alongside experienced pastors and professionals in their respective fields. You'll gain valuable experience that will help you develop your vocational and leadership skills for your future, regardless of where God may be calling you!
All summer intern positions are paid a weekly stipend. For those seeking more than 25 hours per week, additional seasonal responsibilities in other areas of the church are available to earn additional funds. For interns who live outside of the Forney, Texas area, a limited number of summer housing host homes are available, free of charge.

Requirements
- Committed follower of Christ
- In good academic standing and pursuing an undergraduate degree in any field, a masters-level program with a biblical studies emphasis, or have completed college and exploring a call to ministry
- Graduated high school from May 2019 to May 2026
- Exploring the possibility of God’s call to church ministry (as a lay leader, bi-vocationally, or vocationally)
- Agree to the FBC Forney Policies and Procedures Manual
- Ability to work 25 hours weekly including regular office hours and after hours ministry events for the full 10 week schedule
- Participate and serve in your internship area for all Sunday morning activities during your internship

Is this is a paid Internship?
Yes! FBC Forney offers paid summer internship positions for each of the positions listed above. Each intern earns $300 per week for a total of 10 weeks. Additional tasks are available in other areas of the church for those looking to earn additional funds.
What is the schedule of the 2026 Summer Internship Program?
We ask all of our summer interns to commit to our full 10 week schedule with no vacations. This 10 week summer schedule begins on Monday, May 25, 2026 and ends on Sunday, August 2, 2026. While exceptions can be made, these are rare and will need to be communicated before the internship offer is extended.
Where do Interns live?
Our summer interns are encouraged to live close to FBC Forney as our interns will regularly attend events outside of normal office hours. Many of the interns will be from Forney, Texas. However, for those applying outside of the area, housing is available to a limited number of interns.
Are there any education / school benefits?
We do not have an agreement with any particular school for offering college credit. However, we welcome internship requests for accommodations to the program to allow for school credit. We are also willing to create or adapt this internship to help meet specific degree requirements if necessary. Please communicate any request for modification of the program on the internship application.
What is expected of me?
Each intern will serve as a key member of a ministry team for Sunday services and special events and will participate in all team meetings. Additionally, there will be a weekly internship meetings throughout the program.
