Summer 2025 Internship
Applications for the Summer 2025 Internship Program at FBC Forney are now open! The deadline to apply for these internships is February 28, 2025. Application review and interviews will take place during the first two weeks of March and applicants will know the result of their application by March 15, 2025.
As a part-time seasonal intern at FBC Forney, you'll receive hands-on training while serving alongside experienced pastors and professionals in their respective fields. You'll gain valuable experience that will help you develop your vocational and leadership skills for your future, regardless of where God may be calling you!
Requirements
- Committed follower of Christ
- In good academic standing and pursuing an undergraduate degree in any field, a masters-level program with a biblical studies emphasis, or have completed college and exploring a call to ministry.
- Graduated high school within the past 7 years
- Exploring the possibility of God’s call to church ministry (as a lay leader, bi-vocationally, or vocationally)
- Agree to the FBC Forney Policies and Procedures Manual
- Ability to work 20-25 hours weekly including regular office hours and after hours ministry events for the full 10 week schedule
- Participate and serve in your internship area for all Sunday morning worship services during your internship

Is this is a paid Internship?
Yes. FBC Forney offers paid summer internship positions for each of the positions listed above. Each intern earns $300 per week for a total of 10 weeks.
What is the schedule of the 2025 Summer Internship Program?
We ask all of our summer interns to commit to our full 10 week schedule. This 10 week summer schedule begins on Monday, June 2, 2025 and ends on Sunday, August 10, 2025. While exceptions can be made, these are rare and will need to be communicated before the internship offer is extended.
Where do Interns live?
Our summer interns are encouraged to live close to FBC Forney as our interns will regularly attend events outside of normal office hours. Housing is not provided and preference will be given to those who have access to local housing, but if a summer intern has specific housing need, they can indicate that and we will work to find temporary housing for them if it is at all possible. This assistance cannot be guaranteed and if access to housing is a condition of your acceptance of the internship you should communicate that in the application process.
Are there any education benefits?
We do not have an agreement with any particular school for offering college credit, However, we welcome internship requests for accommodations to the program to allow for school credit. We are also willing to create or adapt this internship to help meet specific degree requirements if necessary. Please communicate any request for modification of the programon the internship application.
What is expected of me?
Each intern will serve as a key member of a ministry team for Sunday services and special events and will participate in all paid team meetings. Additionally, there will be a weekly internship development meeting and internship project meeting.
